Narrative

I became a lawyer to help people who need it most. My father was an attorney, and his father was before him. I would occasionally go with Dad to his office to sharpen pencils, get him coffee or alphabetize filing while he worked. When I asked him what he did as a lawyer, he told me that he helped people who needed it. That was when I realized that I wanted to help people too.

As one of nine children, I joined the Army’s JAG Corp to put myself through college and law school. I started as a military clerk typist in 1982 and have worked my way up to trial attorney. I clerked for my father and worked with him after law school. His practice was mostly real estate and estate work at that time and I wanted to help injured people in court.

Before joining Cellino & Barnes, I worked in two other firms representing plaintiffs in Workers Compensation cases and Social Security Disability Benefits claims as well as construction injuries, motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice and products liability cases. I am proud to have represented hundreds of members of the Auto Workers, Steel Workers, Electrical Workers, Communication Workers, Plumbers and Steamfitters, and other unions for injuries suffered in both work and non-work related activities.

When a person is injured, they are often at their most vulnerable and need the advice, guidance and assistance of a knowledgeable advocate for their rights. I am proud to be able to use my experience along with the tremendous resources of Cellino & Barnes to continue to represent those who need it most.
