Cyclospora

Cyclospora is a parasite that can be spread through food or drinking water that is contaminated with stool from an infected person. This disease in not common in the United State, however, in the mid-90’s there was a large outbreak in the US and Canada linked to imported raspberries.

Cyclospora needs days or weeks to become infectious.  Therefore it is unlikely that the parasite is passed from person to person.

Symptoms of Cyclospra include primarily watery diarrhea, but may also include loss of appetite, weight loss, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and fatigue.

You can minimize the likelihood of getting Cyclospora by thoroughly washing your fruits and vegetables.

If you or a loved one has contracted Cyclospora, please contact our personal injury attorneys today.
