Enterobacter sakazakii
Enterobacter sakazakii is a rare cause of bloodstream and central nervous system infections. This infection primarily causes illness in infants under the age of one as a result of ingesting powdered infant formula.
According to the FDA, powdered formula does not go through the same sterilization process as liquid formula and can become a breeding ground for bacteria.
