Construction Site - Fall from Ladder - Transcript

I was contacted by a gentleman who was represented by a law firm in Western New York, and that law firm had become intimidated by the insurance company who was refusing to pay any money to compensate him for his personal injuries.  That law firm told my soon to be client:  We can’t help you anymore.  There’s nothing we can do.  You have no case.  You’re not going to get any recovery for your personal injuries.  So that client came to me. 

I took a look at his medical records.  I looked at the facts of the case, and he had fallen off of a ladder at a construction site sustaining a significant spinal injury.  So I looked at those facts and the medical records, and I disagreed with the assessment of the insurance company, and I disagreed with what his former attorneys thought.  I pursued an extensive investigation, retained the necessary experts including an economist, vocational rehabilitation specialist, and talked to all of his treating doctors to learn the true nature of his injury, what caused his injury, and the effect on his life into the future.  The insurance company however still would not budge.  They did not want to pay anything to my client so, we were forced to go to trial and after a two week trial, after hearing all of the evidence and all the proof, and despite the fact that my client’s former attorney thought that his case wasn’t worth anything, a jury came back and awarded my client a multi-million dollar verdict.
