Pedestrian Accident Transcript – Robert Scalione

Hi.  My name is Bob Scalione.  I’m an attorney at the law firm of Cellino & Barnes and we handle cases, motor vehicle accident cases, not just involving two cars, but we also handle cases involving pedestrians that are involved in accidents.

I had a case recently where my client was riding a bicycle on a sidewalk and he got into an accident.  A vehicle ran a stop sign, hit him, and he was severely injured, and it was a situation where things are sometimes a little bit different when we are dealing with a pedestrian case.  And the fact that the vehicle was also owned by a car dealership which opens up a whole new set of issues in terms of insurance coverage where sometimes people think they can go it alone.  When you are up against an insurance company, much less a big company or corporation like an auto dealership, it is really important to have a lawyer on your side who can dissect through all the layers of coverage for insurance purposes that there are, to make sure you can maximize the value of the case.

This was an individual who was severely hurt, ultimately had to have surgery.  He was working before the accident, was unable to work after this had happened to him. So, ultimately we were able to get a very good result for him.  Certainly weren’t able to get him his body back or put him back the way he was before the accident, but we were able to secure his future from a financial standpoint.
