Workplace Injury – 3rd Party Claim – Transcript
In New York State and in many states, if you are injured at work, those injuries are generally covered under a workers’ compensation claim.
There are some exceptions to this law. For example, if you are injured on a
construction site, there may be a third party responsible and you would have a personal injury case.
Another example would be an injury that happens when a person slips and falls on an icy step outside their place of employment. If the business premises are maintained by an outside contractor, the injured personal may very well have a claim outside of workers’ compensation. If you have suffered an injury in a
workplace accident, it is a good decision to consult a lawyer. The earlier the investigation can begin, the more beneficial it will be for you.
